Description
Restored by office ANC Arquitects (Teresa Novais and Jorge Carvalho), this housing is testimony of the typological longevity of the Porto house of the 19th Century. Crafted ceilings and walls, tiles and mosaics, floor woods, banister or inside doors were dignified without relinquishing the functionality and comfort expected today. The minimalistic kitchen furniture or the iron and glass curtain (the lining of the back elevation) reveal the capacity to articulate the sophisticated designs of the different time periods of the house. Subtle chromatic variations and the shameless use of wallpaper guarantee the specificity of each space. Designed for a specific client, this is paradoxically a house we all would love to live in.
