Description
The renovation project of the house on Vitória Street, by architects Paulo Freitas and Maria João Marques is able to join a sense of tradition as well as modernity yet without any promiscuity. A colour code clarifies the visitor: white for walls and ceilings with wooden structure in plain sight; black for furniture or partitions; honey colour for the riga wood floors ensuring comfort and spatial flow. Differentiating without separating, spaces like the kitchen and the sitting room coexist in a subtle way around a staircase that is also a shelf and a cupboard. The attention given to the design of these interiors earned the pair of architects the gold medal at the Miami Architecture Biennale. If you have the chance sit down in the love seat with view over the Grilos church and the Pilar Mountain.
