Description

The relationship between Atelier 15 and Afurada is already quite long and the result is a deep understanding of the dynamics of this fishing community. Made of wood, covered with a succession of gable roofs and painted in a gaudy red, the building, an exhibition centre about its people, formally revisits a group of consecutive warehouses that existed here before. The exuberant colour, however, comes from the old shacks, now gone, that kept the fishing tools and were painted this way in order to be seen at a distance or maybe only because the hands that made them were the same ones that built the boats. We recommend also a visit to the public washing stones, also made by Atelier 15 and the first work built in their Polis Program plan.
