Description
A good example of restoration of an old fish warehouse, Nuno Sampaio’s architecture studio offers from the start a multipurpose space (under the name Estratégia Urbana [Urban Strategy]) where the goal is to promote an interdisciplinary debate about architecture and territory, this way blurring out the borders of the private office with its public ambition. Leaving the existing structure of the building exposed with a generous height, the intervention is characterized by a game of association of several lower volumes that deconstruct the archetype of the gable roof house. An intelligent solution that guaranties most of the thermal comfort. A celestial white fed by skylights and a dark grey, mark the two periods of the building.
