Description
A real test of strength, this is one of the first works built by the then even younger Atelier da Bouça, part of the Matosinhos Coast plan by Souto Moura. In a small intervention, the building has the ability to skilfully articulate itself with the city and the sea, and the beginning of the Molhe Sul of Porto de Leixões. The exterior, covered by granite and tile, contrasts with the indoor white environment, where the ludic succession of objects (an “inverted table” and a table in the strict sense) organizes the different functions running here. Initially conceived as a Centre for Monitoring and Interpreting the Environment, it now runs as a Tourist Office, which confirms that at the beach of Matosinhos there will always be a good environment (and good vibes).
