Description
Designed by architect Luísa Penha, these two single-family homes with an indoor pool seem to sum up the history of architecture in two archetypes: the gable roof house with a symmetric elevation, and the modern building with torn openings and visible concrete. But in both cases the formal sophistication and construction details go beyond the archetype in our imagination. Domestic comfort stands out and the atmosphere is refined, almost art deco, which explains the elegance and depuration of the indoor stairs or the sharp-cut doorjambs of the sliding doors.
